Delaware River 10-19-08

Sunday, 26 October 2008
Today we had our last regular season tournament of the year, and man was it cold! The wind was howling at 15-20mph, and the air temp was in the upper 40s in the morning and the low 60s in the afternoon. The water temp dropped to 58-62 degrees, and was actually very clean as far as the Deleware goes.
Although the weather was tough, leave it up to Five Alive Bassmasters to get on fish! We ended up hooking into 63 fish weighing in at over 86 pounds! Pretty respectable!
Pat Harrigan took a much needed win today with 5 fish weighing in at 9.97 and the lunker winner of 3.21! Nice Job Pat! Chris Press landed 2nd place with 9.06, and Bob Distefeno hooked 3rd with 8.15. Way to go members!
Now we move on to the Club Classic where the top 16 duke it out for the Club Classic Trophy! Manasquan 2 day tournament in October!!!

Congratulations to Angler of the Year Rich McCrone, who dominated the club this year! Way to go Father!!!!

The club headed up to Monksville today, and got a taste of some early Fall weather. At tournament start time it was raining like crazy, and air temps were only 55 degrees. By early afternoon the skies went partly cloudy and warmed up to 68. The water was clear as always, and ranged in temp from 61-64 degrees. Overall a pretty decent day.
30 Fish were caught today for almost 40 pounds....not too many hogs to say the least! Bruce Sax showed us up today with 4 fish weighing 6 pounds.....way to go cousin Brucey! Tom Fariello took second with 5.82 pounds, and John Carey placed 3rd with 5.35. Nice job Guys!
Last tournament of the year is coming....Deleware. Then its off to the Club Classic! See ya there!

Another great day weather wise to start the Fall fishing on Merril Creek!
Skies were clear with light winds, and temps ranging from 50 in the morning to the low 80s in the afternoon. The water was crystal clear and had temps of 68-70 degrees. The weather was a little too nice for Fishing!!!
The star of the day was Steve Carey who took his second 1st place finish on Merril Creek. Steve had an outstanding day with 5 smallmouth weighing in at 15.12!!! Way to knock em dead Steve!
Second place went to Chris Press with 10.80, and third place went to Ed Kijewski with 6.20...nice job members!
Lunker of the day went to guest angler, Charlie Mondaro, who had a 4.78 kicker!
Be sure to check out the rest of the results from Merril!
The heat is on for Angler of the year and the top 16 places in the Five Alive Club Classic! Its getting HOT!

Carnegie Lake 09-07-08

Monday, 20 October 2008
Tropical Storm Hanna just got out of the way so we could head out to Carnegie today! Not that it would have stopped Five Alive Bassmasters anyway! The weather was real nice with clear skies, air temps in the mid 80s, and winds from 5-10 mph. The water got beat up from the storm and was murky as hell in some spots, and the temp dropped all the way to 70 degrees in most areas.
Without all the rain, we would have crushed them today, but the fish turned off big time! We ended up catching 27 bass, weighing over 42 pounds....so it wasnt horrible. Rich (Father) McCrone landed his 3rd-first place finish for the year with 4 fish weighing 5.49...you are on fire Rich!
Randy Baran took 2nd place with 2 fish weighing in at 4.11, and Nick Jack took 3rd and Lunker with a 3.93 fatty! Way to go members!!!
Rich is still on his way to becoming Angler of the Year, and the race for the second and third spot is getting REAL intense! Steve Richter is running away with the Rookie of the Year spot, and the top 16 for the Club Classic is getting to be a nail biter! 3 Tourns left!!!

Dont forget to check out the rest of the results from Carnegie.
See ya at Merril Creek!!!

We had our night tournament on Assunpink last night, and boy was it a dissapointment! Only 8 members out of 29 landed fish....OUCH!
The weather was pretty cool in the mid 60s with partly cloudy skies, and light winds. The water was a bit stained and read temps in the upper 70s. By 2am, everything was wet from the air dew, and the bugs were nasty as hell!
Joe Kraft landed another win with 2 fish weighing in at 7.68, and also banged lunker with a 4.71 Assunpink sweetie! Nice Job Krafty!!!
John Musto took 2nd with 5.25 and Randy Baran placed 3rd with 4.2. Better than nothing members! Nice Job!!!
Dont forget to check out the rest of the results! The points race is heating up for the top 16 who go to the 2 day club classic in October! The Rookie of the Year race is getting pretty intense as well!
Next we get back on track and head to Carnegie. Always a good one!

See ya there!

Monday, 18 August 2008
Five Alive BassmastersThe club headed up to Farrington Lake today and had some decent weather for the tournament. Skies were a bit cloudy with light winds, and air temps ranging from 70 in the morning to 82 in the afternoon. The water was its usual stained color, and ranged in temp from 79-81 degrees.
We didnt do as well as we normally do, but Farrington is not its usual self this year. Tough as hell!
BUT....Leave it up to Five Alive members to find the fish!
Tim Dafick cleaned house today with 5 fish weighing in at 8.74...way to go Daffy!
Bob Distefeno came in at a close second with 4 fish totaling 7.37, and Steve Richter continues come alive with 2 fish weighing in at 6.77!  Steve also landed lunker of the day with a 3.78 Farrington female. Way to go members!

Next we hit a club favorite....Assunpink! See ya there!
