Lake Rules:
The park opens for fishing at 6:00 am. and closes around dusk. The park also requires that you wear a personal flotation device (PFD) the entire time you are fishing. A ranger occasionally patrols the lake to make sure all fishermen are wearing their PDF's and to notify anglers of closing. Also to further prevent the use of outboard motors all boats with removable gas tanks must have them removed and boats with permanent gas tanks must have the prop removed from their engines.
Additional Comments:
In order to hold a tournament on the Manasquan you must contact the Park Ranger's office (Tom Fobes) at 732-919-0996. After confirming availability, you must then contact the Monmouth County Parks office (732-842-4000) to reserve the date. The registration cost depends upon the amount of boats registered.
The lake is closed for fishing from November 30th till sometime in March.
