Elite Series Wildcard Qualifier - 2006/11/10 03:57
Hey Guys,
Just wanted to let you all know I qualified for the year end event by finishing in 11th place overall in the BASS Northern Tour and will be heading down to the Harris Chain of Lakes in Leesburg, Florida this Saturday to fish for a brand new Triton TR20 with a 200 HP Mercury. I wanted to say thank you to each of you for keeping me sharp this year in our tournaments because they helped me in the bigger events. I'm very excited and can't wait to get down there. Here are some links to follow along and see how I do...Later, Rick.

Thanks Dave. I'm going to give it my best. Florida can be a funny place to bass fish. One day it's hot action the next no fish. I hear rattletraps are working down there right now. I going to go back to an old post of yours on NJ Bass Anglers when you talked about rattletraps. I'm not the best with them and I've only caught maybe one bass using them. I tried them last spring until my arm fell off but no luck. I think I'm not working them right. Any tips from the master...? Talk to you soon. Rick

No master here! Check out the post over on NJbassanglers. Chapter 11 lipless cranks. A lot of guys contributed to that thread. It's just a bait you will have to make a million cast with. Choose the right color and don't give up on it.

Rich:
Use your head. It is what got you to where you are now. Where you are fishing is not New Jersey. It is FLA and the time of year where the fish are going through a transition. Bring heavy weights in the event you have to penetrate matted grass. Flappinn' crawdaddy's, june bug etc. Rattle trap if you have to! But don't wear your arm off. Gold traps 1/2 -3/4 oz. Big Spinnerbaits with big gold blades. Learn everyday from your boater. They are looking for an Elite spot, they have to adapt and fish well. Even Velvick is fighting for his shot.
The entire Club and Nation is cheering you on. In the words of a popular sneaker manufacturer "Just do it!"
GL NJBassAngler "Just go fishing" Everything else falls in place
