Five Alive Bassmasters would like to thank all 28 teams for participating in our October 23rd buddy bass tournament at Lake Assunpink. It was a chilly windy fall day. Partly cloudy then afternoon sunshine. The water temperature was in the upper 50"s with the air temperature being 42 in the am and reaching the upper 50's later in the day. It felt like 40 degrees all day with the relentless 20-25mph wind. All in all it was a tough bite but 24 bass 15" or better were weighed in. I did hear reports of a good mourning bite but slim pickings the rest of the day. Fish were caught on jigs, crankbaits, senkos, and rattle traps. |

Results are in from the first tournament of the year and it was a close one. Less than a pound seperated the top three anglers with Chris Press finishing 1st with 6.54lb also taken home the $132 prize for his 2.34lb Lunker. Right behind Chris were Tim Dafick and Pat Harrigan with 5.87 and 5.65lbs. All three anglers had their limit of 5 fish.
