Manasquan/Deal

One of the club favorites...The Megabucks 2 Day Tournament on Manasquan and Deal!!
It was a good one!....and a CLOSE one!

We started the first day on Manasquan and had pretty decent weather. The sky was partly cloudy, with winds 5-10 mph, and temps ranging from 78 in the morning to 90 in the afternoon. The water was clean as always, and ranged in temp from 79-81.
26 members fished and snagged 79 Fish for a total 168 pounds...gotta love it!!!
Rich McCrone led the first day with over 13 pounds, followed by Pat Childs in 2nd and Randy Baran II in 3rd. Pat Childs also took Lunker on day 1 with a 5.26 Hog!
Nice Job Members!

Day 2 moved us to Deal Lake.
Weather was similar with temps in the upper 80s, with winds running 8-15 mph and partly cloudy skies. The water was its usual dirty stain, with temps running 79-83.
The club caught 46 fish weighing in at almost 85 pounds...not as good as day 1, but we didnt expect to stomp Manasquan anyway!
Rich McCrone ended up taking the 2 Day tournament with a total of 19.02 pounds and 8 fish!!! Our MEGA bucks winner!!!
You the man Rich!
Tom Fariello came in at a close second with 9 fish weighing in at 18.62, and Joe Kraft a close third with 10 fish weighing in at 18.36!

North East River 5-18-08

Thursday, 22 May 2008
The club fished the North East River today, and  we had some nasty weather to deal with. The air temp was decent at 67-70 degrees, but the 15-20 mph winds, and heavy downpours in the afternoon made for some tough boating! The water was its normal stained color, and ranged in temp from 62-65 degrees. We had 27 members fish today, and 32 fish were caught weighing in at 88.43 pounds. Typical North East results!
Greg Guerry showed his stuff today taking the 1st place award with 4 fish weighing in at 11.33 pounds. Way to go Greg!!! Tom Fariello nailed 2nd place with 3 fish at 8.96, and Tim Dafick landed 3rd with also 3 fish weighing 8.34. Nice Job Bassmasters!
Nick Jack took the Lunker spot with a 4.54 pound North East fatty! Kudos Nick!
Next we are off to Candlewood....should be a dandy!
